Weston turned two yesterday!! I can't believe it's been two years since I had my first baby boy!! We had a great time celebrating his birthday. On Saturday, he had his first birthday party with friends. He had friends from our Mommies group and friends from church there. I rented out a Dallas Rec Center for the event. They provided a bounce house, lots of balls, scooters and other toys. To say West had a blast would be an understatement. Balls and bouncing are his two favorite things, so when he gets to combine them, he's in heaven! Usually he makes sure I'm right next him, but I only saw him a handful of times at the party, he was too busy having too much fun!
When we got home Weston opened up all his presents!! He's got really great friends that really know him, there wasn't one present that he didn't love!!!
On Monday, his actual birthday, Devon came home early and we went to the park.
After park time, we went to Target so he could pick out a present from Grandma Paulette
Then I slaved and slaved to make him his favorite dinner; croutons and olives. I don't get it, but he sure enjoyed it!
We had cake and ice cream
And finally he got to open his present from us!
We let him stay up an hour past bedtime and he played, just about the entire time and it was the first place he went when he got out of bed this morning. I think he likes it ;)
I really think that Weston enjoyed his birthday, I know that I did! This was one of the things I looked forward to most when I had kids.
A few things I want to remember about my two year old:
*His favorite thing to do around the house is jump on the beds. Not only does he jump, he throws himself down. Luckily, we've had no injuries yet, but I'm not sure my luck will hold out too much longer.
*He LOVES his little brother. Landon gets about a bajillion hugs and kisses a day, I wish I was that lucky!!
*He is such a little helper. He loves getting things for his brother, like boppy, his blanket and pacifier. He also helps us put dirty clothes in the bathroom, retrieves phones, glasses, remotes, etc, when we are too lazy to get up.
*He knows how to Skype with Grandma Paulette on the Ipad, all by himself. He's able to call her and everything with no assistance from us.
*He already knows his basketball referee signs. He can call a foul, a charge, blocking, out of bounds, holding, three-pointer and thanks to Uncle Andrew, a technical.
*He LOVES phones and he's a sneaky little guy when it comes to them. Our phones disappear quite often and we find them and him in the corner next to our bed.
*Our biggest battle right now, is him throwing food at the table. UGH! He drives us crazy with this!! I'm sure someday I'll look back and wish or problems were as simple as that ;)
*He's all boy! He loves balls, cars, trucks, jumping and can find any mud puddle, no matter how small.
Overall, he's a happy, healthy little boy that sure seems to love life and that's all I can ask for!!!!
