Wonder Woman

Yesterday I was feeling a bit like Wonder Woman! I got up, ironed Devon clothes, showered, got two kids dressed, fed and off to storytime. We ran an errand on the way home, but still made it back in time to eat lunch and get down for naps. I even got in a nap! After naptime I was able to get the house picked up, dishes done and everything swept. I had dinner completely ready when Devon walked in the door! Both kids were bathed and put to bed so I got to spend some time with Devon. I went to bed thinking I had this two kid thing down!! Unfortunately, that idea didn't last for long. It's currently 2:30pm and Weston and I are still in our pajamas. The only reason Landon is dressed is because he had a huge blowout this morning. I have yet to attempt a shower. Landon has been fussing all morning, I'm pretty sure he's tired, but he refuses to sleep. Apparently, I am the only one in this house(besides Hamilton) who is interested in taking a nap.  On top of it all while I was tending to Landon this morning, Weston decided to rearrange his room...

I sure hope Wonder Woman comes back tomorrow!!!

Landon Hardy

My little guy is almost four weeks old, so I figure it's time to blog about the handsome guy! On Monday, January 7th I came home with a pizza to sit down and watch the National Championship game with Devon. Just as the game started so did my contractions. They weren't especially intense, so I ignored them for awhile. However, Devon pointed out that I should start timing because they seemed to be coming pretty close together. Devon downloaded a contraction app on his iPhone and started timing. Sure enough they were coming just about three minutes apart. We decided to go to the hospital and get checked out. They admitted me, but I wasn't as far along as I was with Weston, so I figured it was going to be a long night. But Landon was ready to come! I was admitted at 10pm, got an epidural at 12am, water broke at 2:30 and Landon popped out at 3:20am after only 12 minutes of pushing!

Fun Landon Facts

  • For the first two nights Landon had his days and nights confused. He would sleep ALL DAY and was up ALL NIGHT! Devon and I had to take shifts to make it through the night.
  • After the first two nights, Landon actually became a pretty good sleeper. He's up for a couple of quick feedings, but then right back to sleep. He's even let me get a couple of four hour stretches. He's  been sleeping in till 9:30am most mornings.
  • He's got a bit of a temper, especially in the evening.
  • For the first week he would only sleep if he was right next to me. My mother in law suggested that he might just want to be warmer and she was right. This kids likes to be warm and toasty!! Weston was and is completely oblivious to temperature, so this is all new to me
  • He LOVES to be held and hates to be alone. If he can't see anyone, he'll let you know it.
  • At his two week appointment he was 25% for weight and 75% for height. Looks like we'll have a tall skinny guy.
  • He is not a fan of baths yet, especially after I used Weston's shampoo and it caused him to break out in baby acne :(

The New Big Brother

I think we really underestimated how much Weston understood about my pregnancy. He did not look the least bit surprised when he came to the hospital and found us with a baby. We even asked him where Landon was and instead of pointing to my tummy (where he'd been pointing previously) he pointed right to Landon. I think Weston enjoys having a little brother. He loves patting his little head and holding his little hand. He loves to help, he especially loves giving Landon his fier (pacifier).

He's even trying to teach Landon how to play football.

And he's even let Landon watch videos with him

While, he loves having a brother, he doesn't like sharing a mom. He's been pretty naughty lately, especially while I'm feeding Landon. I was feeling little sorry for him, knowing this is a huge change in his life. But, that sympathy is subsiding very rapidly! Hopefully, he'll catch on soon and just make the best of his new life :)
