Denver Adventure Week 12

This is it, our last Denver Adventure post! As soon as I got back from California, we started packing. While we were living in our apartment it sure didn't seem like we had much, but when it came time to pack it all up, it sure seemed like we had a ton!! Once all the packing was done it was time to say goodbye to our friends at Western Union. Adriana was Devon's boss this summer, Diane was his mentor. They were two fabulous women! Every time West and I came in they made us feel so at home. They made sure to involve all of us in this internship experience.

They both loved West!!
Especially Diane! But the feeling wasn't always mutual.

Right after lunch we went back to the apartment to pick up Hamilton.

It would be an understatement to say that it was difficult to get Hamilton into her kennel. But once she was in, she was pretty good.

A few last pictures of our empty apartment and then we were finally headed home!

Once home Devon headed back to Denver with his brother and dad's truck to pick up the big stuff.

I had this mess to clean up...

West was able to get acquainted with some new toys that he was too little to play with when we left.

West had a little cousin born just before we came back, so we got to meet him!

It is SO good to be home! I love having a washer and dryer, sleeping in my own bed, vacuuming with a real vacuum, eating off of real plate with real utensils and of course, having family around. But I really am going to miss Denver. It was certainly a great chapter in our lives. The whole experience was exactly what we hoped and prayed for!!

Denver Adventure Week 11

I didn't realize how much we did this week, until I sat down to type up this blog.

Monday morning my mom and I took West out on a paddle boat at a nearby park. Once again West looked awfully cute in his life jacket.

Monday night we went to another Rockies game, but this time West actually cheered for the Rockies.

Tuesday night my mom babysat, so Devon and I could go out for my birthday. It was $12 Tuesday at the local family fun center, so that's what I wanted to do. Unfortunately, everyone else in Denver had the same idea. So, after dinner we opted to go see Harry Potter, instead.

A few months ago when Devon & I came to check out Denver, we went to Rocky Mountain National Park. Just before the park entrance there is a little city called Estes Park. While we were driving through, we commented that it would be a fun place to take my mom when she came to visit. So on Wednesday, my mom, West and I headed out there. It was a super cute little city and we had a great time!

On Thursday we left for California with my mom. West got to do a lot of things...

He got to ride in an airplane!

He was sooo good on the plane. When we got off and were waiting for his stroller, everyone commented on what a good baby he was.

He got to meet lots of new people!

He got to go eat at Dominicos!

He got to go to a Wedding!

Finally, he got to go home and see daddy!

Denver Adventure Week 10

This was a pretty eventful week! My mom came to town, again, so West and I spent our weekdays with her, while Devon was hard at work. The second day she was here West decided to roll over from his back to his stomach for the first time. He'd been getting SO close for the last couple of week, so I'd been watching him like a hawk, hoping to get it on video. But of course, he finally did it when no one was looking. I put him on his back in the living room, left for a second, came back and this is what I saw...

The next day we went down toward Colorado Springs. I'd read about a little town called Manitou Springs, at the base of Pikes Peak, it looked cute so my mom and I went and checked it out.

We had a great time, but we really had fun when we found the arcade.

West had a blast on the rides and we had a blast watching him!

We also went to the Denver County Fair. This was quite a disappointment!! The whole thing was in one building, there was no good food and they only had a handful of animals.

Friday night we all went to the 16th Street mall in downtown Denver. It's an outdoor mall with shops, street performers, etc. We had a great time. West even tried to steal grandma's Diet Coke.

On Saturday we tried Elitch Gardens again, this we brought my mom along to watch West. Things went much better this time!!
