The On-Ramp
Late one night we were on our way home from a Texas Ranger baseball game. Devon got a little lost and decided to make a last minute decision to get on the freeway. He thought there was just a couple white lines between us and the on-ramp when in reality there was a concrete island. By time he noticed the island, he was already committed, so we drove up and over it. My car did not seem to like our little adventure, but luckily there was no damage. My mom, who was in the backseat with my boys, let loose a naughty word that is not suitable for publication on this family friendly blog.
The Train
A couple Fridays ago Devon had a light day at work, so he was planning on leaving a little early. At 3:30pm he texted me and told me he was on the train coming home. At 4:10pm he called me and informed me he had done something stupid. I simply thought he had waited for the wrong train and would just be delayed a few minutes. But in reality he was calling to ask if I could pick him up at the train station. You see, since he was planning on leaving work a little early and would miss rush hour, he had decided to drive to work that morning. That afternoon he walked to the train station, sat on the train for 40 minutes and got off the train without once realizing that his car was parked at a lot in Downtown Dallas.
The Parking Lot
*This is my favorite stupid thing. I get the giggles every time I think about it!
We decided to check out the new Perot Museum in Downtown Dallas. There is a main parking lot for the museum, but it was full by time we arrived. Devon drove around the corner and pulled up behind a row of parked car (he was stopped was in front of a red curb, so we could not park there). But we sat for awhile; I was thinking that Devon was just planning his parking strategy. But as the time ticked by and Devon hadn’t so much as put the car in park, it dawned on me that he wasn’t planning his strategy, he was waiting for all the cars in front of him to go. He had no idea all the cars were parked, he thought they were waiting at a light. I told him, through my tears of laughter, that the cars were parked, but looking back I should have waited to see how long it took him to figure it out ;)
I LOVE these moments and I hope there are more of them!!
